Vande Mataram
This is to all those who feel - "Proud to be an INDIAN"
"No Muslim can sing 'Vande Mataram' if he considers himself to be a true believer," said Maulana Mahmood Madani, general secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, New Delhi. He said, "Any Muslim singing 'Vande Mataram' will not be considered a Muslim."
Though I agree to the opinion that singing 'Vande Mataram' should not be made compulsory, rather sing it only if you feel Proud to be an Indian. It is true that the feeling should come from within and not be forced. But, Madani's statements are unforgivable. Where does Islam or any religion for that matter teach one to abstain himself/herself from loving and respecting one's motherland?
Madani's statements should be bounced back on him - "Any Muslim NOT singing 'Vande Mataram' will not be considered a True Indian."

The definition of a "True Indian" acc to me - One who respects India, feels proud to be an Indian and the nature of the work he/she does is constructive - for the welfare and betterment of the society. Terrorists, militants, "Underworld Don's" and other anti-social elements are a liability to the country.
No religion preaches the values to show disrespect to your country. It is both shameful and "Un-Indian" to preach and follow this
